Ewing Athletics has just dropped this vibrant new 33 HI in collaboration with renowned NYC artist Tom Sanford.
In 1989 Ewing Athletics became the first independent basketball brand when Patrick Ewing became the first professional basketball player to have his own shoe company. In 2012 he launched the brand and today it’s still bringing the heat that put them on the map back in the day.
The flagship Ewing Athletics shoe, the 33 HI, is an exact retro of the 1990 original. It features a classic reversible ankle strap that can be worn on the front or back of the shoe and a full-length PU midsole for cushioning. This latest colorful iteration was designed in collaboration with NYC artist Tom Sanford based upon his popular painting of the great Patrick Ewing. Tom was born in New York in 1975 and spent his formative years in the United Kingdom. He has lived in Harlem since 1994. While generally considered a recluse, he has exhibited art work internationally over the course of the past two decades. This latest 33 HI features his art on the tongue and a hand painted aesthetic on the design along with gold strap hardware and special packaging.
