We take a look at some unbelievably cool new Pro Board skate decks from Real Skateboards.
Let’s bring it back to 1991 the year that Real Skateboards was born. Brought to the surface, stripped of all the unnecessary baggage that had been tagged on over the years by outdated skateboard companies. The idea would be simple and perfect in simplicity. A genuine skateboard company run by skaters to forward the progression of Real skateboarding for Real skateboarders. With strong individuals in the front that dream was realized by such skaters as Tommy Guerrero, Jim Thiebaud, James Kelch, Salman Agah, Max Schaaf and Keith Hufnagel passed in to the future with skaters like Ishod Wair, Zion Wright, Mason Silva, Kyle Walker and Jack Olson. The brand focus and everything they do at Real is designed with skateboarding in mind.
Now we don’t really have a horse in this race so we’re not gonna debate about the authenticity of the Jackalope. The interwebs describe a jackalope as a mythical animal of North American folklore, in the category of fearsome critters, described as a jackrabbit with antelope horns. The word jackalope is derived from jackrabbit and antelope because many jackalope taxidermy mounts, including the original, are made with deer antlers. What we do know is this Olson Jackalope Deck created fro team rider Jack Olson is a pro quality skateboard deck constructed from traditional 7-ply maple wood using Real R1 Construction for longer lasting strength, pop, stiffness and concave like we’ve grown accustomed to with hardwood from Real. J is for Jack, Jack!
