We Mic Check The Rogue x BET Rap City from EWING

Ewing Athletics just dropped another Rogue and this iteration pays tribute to the iconic hip hop platform BET Rap City.

In 1989 Ewing Athletics became the first independent basketball brand when Patrick Ewing became the first professional basketball player to have his own shoe company. In 2012 he relaunced the brand and today it’s still bringing the heat that put them on the map back in the day.

The Rogue was one of the most in demand shoes of Ewing Athletics rich history and has been brought back over the years for various collabs. Exclusive Rogue features include a forefoot cross strap support system, coupled with neoprene midfoot inserts along with an EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning and this BET Rap City rendition stays true. In case you didn’t know, Rap City was a music video television program that originally aired on the Black Entertainment Television (BET) network from 1989 to 2008. The program provided a much needed platform for hip hop music videos and featured interviews with and freestyles from popular rappers with guest DJs serving as co-hosts. Last September news broke about a Rap City revival. In fact Big Trigger recently posted on IG “This is not a drill,”  “This is not a throwback.” BET also released a short teaser that affirmed that Rap City ’21 will be returning. Stay tuned!
