Ewing Athletics Goes Rogue For YO! MTV RAPS

Ewing Athletics just dropped another Rogue and this iteration pays tribute to the first mainstream show to air hip hop videos, YO! MTV RAPS.

In 1989 Ewing Athletics became the first independent basketball brand when Patrick Ewing became the first professional basketball player to have his own shoe company. In 2012 he relaunced the brand and today it’s still bringing the heat that put them on the map back in the day.

The Rogue was one of the most in demand shoes of Ewing Athletics rich history and has been brought back over the years for various collabs. This latest Rogue features a forefoot cross strap support system, coupled with neoprene midfoot inserts along with an EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning.

Yo! MTV Raps was an American television music video program, which aired from August 1988 to August 1995. The show featured hip hop videos and was originally hosted by Fab 5 Freddy. Later, it was co-hosted by Doctor Dré and Ed Lover and they were joined by Doctor Dre’s Original Concept group member T Money. This Rogue x YO MTV RAPS sneaker pays tribute to the iconic show and in case you didn’t know YO! Is making a comeback. On February 24, 2021, it was announced that Yo! MTV Raps is expected to be revived on Viacom CBS’ streaming platform Paramount Plus. Holla!
