Sport Lite x David Banner From Ewing Athletics

Ewing Athletics just dropped another collaboration with well known activist and hip hop artist David Banner. This time using their Sport Lite silhouette.

In 1989 Ewing Athletics became the first independent basketball brand when Patrick Ewing became the first professional basketball player to have his own shoe company. In 2012 he relaunced the brand and today it’s still bringing the heat that put them on the map back in the day.

David Banner also known by his government name Lavell William Crump is an American rapper, record producer, activist, magician and actor. Born in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated from Southern University and pursued a master’s of education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He began his music career as a member of Crooked Lettaz, before going solo with his debut album, Them Firewater Boyz. Banner later signed with Universal Records in 2003 during which he experienced his greatest commercial success. His latest album, #TheGodBox, was released independently in 2017.

The Sport Lite made its debut in 1993 and was the brand’s first Cross Training shoe. This special edition was designed in conjunction with hip hop artist David Banner, following up on the previous successful Rogue collaboration. This David Banner iteration features  a premium upper with faux pony hair, nubuck and suede inserts, special branding as well as premium packaging. Comfort is provided by an EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning along with a lower cut than our other models and its finished off with a gum bottom sole. What’s the ABV stand for you might be asking? A Banner Vision…Amazing!
