Ewing Athletics has joined forces with Chalk Line and Nickelodeon to create this new 33 HI x Hey Arnold collection.
In 1989 Ewing Athletics became the first independent basketball brand when Patrick Ewing became the first professional basketball player to have his own shoe company. In 2012 he relaunced the brand and today it’s still bringing the heat that put them on the map back in the day.
Chalk Line is a streetwear company who initially rose to prominence during the mid 90’s. The company’s signature item is what is known as the Fanimation jacket featuring imagery of individual athletes and entertainment icons. These vintage pieces are still sought after and collected to this day worldwide.
The flagship Ewing Athletics shoe, the 33 HI, is an exact retro of the 1990 original. It features a classic reversible ankle strap that can be worn on the front or back of the shoe and a full-length PU midsole for cushioning. This Hey Arnold iteration pays tribute to the hit 1990s Nickelodeon show. The show centers on Arnold, a fourth grader who lives with his grandparents in the Sunset Arms boarding house. Each episode, Arnold and his best friend Gerald make their way through childhood and the inner city in an effort to help the people of Hillwood. This collaboration was born from ‘33 vs 33’, the number that Gerald wears in the show and Patrick Ewing’s historic jersey number.
