ASICS Revives The 90s With Two New Gel Lyte IIIs

Asics has dropped two new colorways of their iconic Gel Lyte III silhouette. We take an up close look at both.

Asics is a Japanese owned brand that was actually founded way back in 1949. Since then the Asics Group has been committed to nurturing the world’s youth through sports in order to contribute to society. The company’s vision is to “Create Quality Lifestyle through Intelligent Sport Technology” and their mission is to provide goods and services that promote healthy and fulfilling lifestyles throughout the world. Asics Sportstyle is a division of the brand that fuses together heritage and modern designs in surprising and unexpected ways. This is streetwear that’s designed to speak to your soul.

The Gel Lyte  III OG sneaker emerges once again with its original shape and construction that it featured in the early 90s. Designed by Shigeyuki Mitsui in 1990, this OG  silhouette incorporates a split-tongue application that was originally inspired by the Gel-Ld Racer shoe. This shoe also features a tricot and leather upper construction and  incorporates a signature Gel technology cushioning unit in the heel to improve shock absorption and help deliver lasting comfort. Now you can get the Gel Lyte III in either this fully lit Aqua Angel/Mako Blue colorway or this more subtle and sleek Ivory/Black. As long as you don’t sleep on your size that is!
