By now you’ve heard the story of the rise and fall of Death Row Records and if you haven’t, then you probably don’t need to participate in this preorder from Ewing Athletics.
It was the early 90s, rap was at an all-time most popular level with mega artists like Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls running the show and others like Snoop Dogg on the come up. Sadly this was also the gangsta era and Suge Knight the ringleader of Death Row, was just about as ruthless as you can get. Just Google it if you don’t know them facts.
Fast forward to 2020 and Ewing Athletics has recreated the Death Row Records x Ewing 33 HI. Originally founded in 1991, Death Row became the dominant label in hip-hop while the 33 HI ruled the courts. This collaborative sneaker flaunts a premium pig suede upper along with details like a clear translucent sole, gradient midsole, reflective hits, and special Death Row packaging. The flagship Ewing Athletics shoe, the 33 HI, is an exact retro of the 1990 original. It features a classic reversible ankle strap that can be worn on the front or back of the shoe and a full-length PU midsole for cushioning and now it’s available in two straight gangster colorways.
